It just works

I bought this to make CDs and DVDs borrowed from our public library play better, as they often have lots of scratches and even gouges in them that cause skipping, tiling and even freezing. Since it’s motorized, you don’t have to spend time and elbow grease cleaning them by hand either. This product made some unplayable discs work OK, so I’m happy with it.

The SkipDr works as advertised, successfully used to repair several XBox 360 games that had light to moderate scratches. One disc that had a few deep scratches needed a few extra runs through the Dr, but eventually I was successful at getting it to play. If you have kids or a lot of games/movies in a place that they may get scratched easily this will save you money. I was able to repair over 20 games with one wheel, the cost to replace the game discs would have been over $500. Make sure you use plenty of the included repair fluid.

Pretty Effective, Easy-to-Use Tool for Repairing Damaged Discs

Doesn’t fix every scratch, but most of them, and gets the disc playing again. Depending on the damage, it can repair so a previously scratched disc plays without any interruption, or at least improve play on discs that are badly damaged. I am glad that I bought this automatic model. Replaced my old manual one, which also worked well, and lasted for about 14+ years until it broke. The automatic one is so easy to use. Tip: I also bought the power adapter through the manufacturer, so I didn’t have to supply more batteries (it takes a lot), and worry about removing them while not in use to avoid leakage.
