false description and wrong picture

The wrong picture is posted. The real thing is a KP-653 which is on the Power Acoustik website. However the specs of the model on the website and my purchase were different: the magnet is not 18 oz, its 13 oz, dB is not 91, its 90, and voice coil is not 1.25 inch, its 1 inch. It’s still 6.5″, 160 watt max and 3-way. Ironically, they look the same. Whatever, its still a good value and plays nice.

great for the price!

I took a big chance on buying these speakers. I was just trying to see what I could get for the money…I was sure that I was going to get some pretty poor sounding speakers at this price. I was quite wrong. I installed these myself paired with a nice new JVC CD/MP3 head unit. I was surprised at the sound. I think that I’ll end up getting some bass speakers for the back though as these tend to bring out the high end. So not enough bass would be my only complaint. Otherwise great speakers…especially at that price.

I put this PAIR of speakers in the rear deck of my 1999 saturn sl1. They sound noticeably better than my blown factory speakers. Dont expect too much though. I felt like they had decent bass, buy if you prefer heavy bass, definitely buy a subwoofer. Being completely honest, they look kind of cheesy, and i should note that the speaker grills, if you use them, does not protect the speker very well as it leaves the center section open. For this reason i would not recomend them for doors unless you are using factory grilles. I will also not that the package lacked wires are hardware to install, (maybe because i purchased them as an open box item) but i noticed another reviewer said this too, so maybe thats the case. Any way, I created my own wires using speaker wire from the local hardware store, and some clips i bought at a car parts store. I also should not that although my model number was the same, the speakers i got were actually 5 way speakers as they had 3 tweeters instead of the one shown in the picture. I am not sure if this is normal, but i dont mind. Overall probably not worth the 30 dollar asking price, I recommend buying a speaker that comes with the hardware. Fortunately I only paid $10 for these open box speakers.
