Excellent 6x9s for a excellent price.

I actually bought these from my local Best Buy to replace the blown rear speakers in my 2004 pontiac grand am for about a hundred dollars and i am extreamly happy with them. ive had them for 5 months now and they are still going strong. These speakers can kick with some impressive bass and also sound clear and clean for the high end sounds. I thought they were good for the hundred i paid, but here on amazon they are almost a steal. my car came equipped with a stock amplifier and it sounds really good with it on. turned off you lose alot of the bass unless you turn up the volume a good bit. they still sound pretty good with out the extra juice an amp provides though. these speakers arent gonna shake the neighborhood but they do get the interior vibrating quite a bit. if your looking for some 6x9s to enhance your stock system, i highly recomend these.

Good 6×9′s, great price.

I’m using a Jensen 2 channel 400 Watt Amp to power these (70RMS x2). I can get my Kenwood MP345U head unit (50W Peak x 4) and my amp turned up all the way without distorting these (not without dropping the bass out of them significantly though). I have (2) 10″ subs so don’t really need need these as much for bass, if you do need bass though they can sure give it to you. My only disappointment with these really is that the highs are almost too high when turned up, I have to turn my treble down on my head unit to -4, which takes the high pitch away but slightly muffles the midrange. I can’t seem to find the right balance in there to get the midrange louder without blasting the highs (I even have a midrange control on my head unit, and have had it up to +5). What I would really like out of these is louder, smoother midrange and less ear piercing highs. For what I paid I certainly can’t complain (around $60 including shipping), though if I had to do it over again I would probably spend double and get a pair of higher end speaker (Polk, Infinity?) I used to have some truly awesome Polk audio 6×9′s several years ago and think I was a bit spoiled and my expectations were just too high for these. It’s a great upgrade from stock though, they certainly can go loud and the price is tremendous!

Radio works well. Just as expected

Disappointed with DiscountsJungle

I purchased this product through Discounts Jungle. I have installed many vehicle stereos with no issue and after receiving it, I installed it in to my boat. After getting everything wired in, the unit would not power on. I unhooked the unit, checked via multimeter that power was coming appropriately through the harness and that the fuse was not blown, then re-plugged in the unit. The unit would still not power on. To ensure there was no further issue related to the boat, I removed the unit from the boat, and directly connected the power cable and ground to the battery on my truck, with the unit still not powering on. I set up for the return through amazon, and Discounts Jungle wanted me to contact them regarding my exchange. When I contacted them, they said that they would exchange the item, even though I was outside of the return policy since I did not have the unit professionally installed, but I would have to pay for shipping each way. I purchased a money order, that was included in the box for return. After receiving the item, I received a refund for 10% less than what I paid (not including shipping). I received an email from Amazon stating the return had been completed due to refund, and no other communication from Discounts Jungle. I called the company, to ask why I had been refunded, and after being placed on hold was told that the unit was out of stock, and that was the reason for the refund. I then asked about the money order for return shipping, and was again placed on hold. When the lady returned, she told me the money order would be mailed back to me (I found out later that the money order company charges a $15 dollar fee for refunds, and the money order was only for $11.) I then inquired about why the difference in price, and was placed on hold yet again. When the lady returned, I was told “I know I said the unit was out of stock, but the unit was tested when it was returned and found to be not defective,” and that the difference was a non-refundable restocking fee. I feel that if the unit was actually found to be not defective, I should have been told this information up front. I am now out four way shipping and the restocking fee (Approx. $50 dollars in all). Very disappointed with the customer service of this company.

Great Head unit

I installed this Kenwood Marine stereo in my boat about 3 weeks ago and am really liking it. All of the wires on the back of the unit were well labelled which helped with installation. It seems to have good power to drive the four 6-1/2″ two-way marine speakers I also installed. If you are going to be at high volumes for extended periods you may want to look into a Sub and seperate amp (not a knock on the Kenwood as it does what it is made for). The best thing of this unit is the simple controls. Everything is controled by the knob on the left, it also acts as a joystick, where you can “click” it by pushing up/down/left/right and pressing in. This makes it very easy to scroll through the different options/settings. I like the built in equalizer(sp?) and Bass Boost option which is very useful when you are not using a Subwoofer. The built in USB connector for using your iPod is also a bonus at this price. I would buy this again with no hesitation.

Many of us regrettably face a bully. I may see to it you, I faced some in childhood and adulthood. Some of the meanest and most detrimental bullies were those I came upon in the workplace. Bullies may do a lot of harm to your self-image and calling on reprogramming proficiencies may be a saving grace. The truth is bullying whether on the playground, in the classroom or in the workplace may cause depleting damage. And if we get started believing their unkind acts and hurtful words it may in a literal sense demolish us.

My experience with bullies in the workplace lasted almost a decade. Though, the story is quiet interesting I am not going to portion it with you today, however, I’ll tell you I felt powerless, overwhelmed, isolated, ashamed, humiliated and ugly. I felt like yesterday’s trash! Feelings I had never felt even as a child that knew the sentiment that goes with abandonment, abuse and living in surroundings addictions point is I get it! By using the bully analogy I may help you face a truth when it comes to bullying. That being at times we bully ourselves. Don’t try to tell me you don’t do this. And just in case you don’t know what I’m talking in regards to ask yourself these questions. How galore times a day do you complain when it comes to your hair, your thighs, your wrinkles, your cellulite, your nose etc…?

How some times have you said to yourself, “I’m stupid, I’m ugly, I’m fat, I’m soooo?” You get the point. To verify my assert I’ll portion this as a counselor I found this particularly unfeigned with those that desire to make physical changes such as losing weight. The humans I counseled daily bullied themselves so much that they didn’t need aid in lower their self- image. As stated earlier a good deal of of them convinced themselves they were bad or not good enough. With this kind of self-talk it’s difficult to like yourself and achieve success. Think when it comes to it this way, if you tell yourself you are a failure prospects are you will create that destiny. If you tell yourself you can’t lose weight, you more than likely won’t lose the weight. If you tell yourself you are going to fail the test you more than likely will fail.

The reason for this is that you commence to believe these ideas. Thus, you become your own worst enemy by permitting such negative talk to control the true you, which sets negative action in motion. Whether intentional or not your thoughts become forms of action. You are sabotaging yourself. This may be by way of the company you keep or merely by your own company of self. It is also my faith by putting yourself down lowers your standards and by ignoring your intensities you are slapping your God, your spiritual guide in the face. Furthermore, you are slapping your self in the face and those that have come to love you. By permitting other’s to control your beliefs you are insulting and negating any positive sensations that others may feel for you. Now, that’s not very nice is it?

So, stop permitting others to bully you and stop bullying yourself and look yourself in the eye and reclaim your awesomeness. Tell yourself ten times a day if you have to that you are worthy, wonderful, witty, bright, pretty and talented. Do whatsoever it takes. Just stop the bully! This is why this simple technique is necessary in creating change. The mystery is being present while doing self-talk. Another portion of this ingredient is to keep the self-talk in present tense (“I’ am…” It is…” etc.) This keeps you in the moment. Being present is best explained as not permitting outside forces distract you. My children both played sports. Both are very competitory and take delight in the sudden intense sensation of a win, but more significantly they enjoyed their sport.

The capacity to stay concentered while on the ice, basketball court, volleyball court or softball field required being in the moment each and each second as well as being totally focalized on what was transpiring at the time, at the moment, at that second. They didn’t have time for the outside obstacles to attention like fans and screaming coaches. They were focalized on the game. They were present. This is what helps fabricate winners.

Another example of being present involves communication. Again, I’ll use my children, because I think most of us may relate to this. If you can’t relate then replace children with a friend, substantial other or any person you may be attempting to commune with at the time. After school my children closely always were hungry, full of energy and conversation. Many times while in the middle of speech the phone would ring. A sudden break in speech would occur. This distraction caused their voice to lower and the sparkle in the eye to dim. When this happened my heart would in a literal sense break. After all they were sharing their day with me and an outside strength broke that. The instinctive was lost. We permitted the present to be lost. Because this bothered me I worked diligently in getting the present back by apologizing, looking them in eye and supplying them with the cognition that what they had to say is important. This worked most of the time, because I made sure they heard me tell the person one the line I would call them back after I finished with my kids. This demonstrated to them their importance.

When you are talking to yourself you need to follow the premise of being present. Be conscious of you. You are essential and you have to concede yourself to know that. So, when you are looking at yourself in the mirror or meditating beware of this. Knowledge of this will help you focus and commune better. It will likewise help you get started seeing the astounding you. Looking you in the eye and being present with yourself is necessary if you are to believe in you and your abilities. I was a tenured teacher at a Montana Middle School with a successful work history of almost ten years. I was neared and harassed in my classroom by a mentally challenged and dangerous person for the duration of school hours. His speech and actions caused me fear that I would be raped, or worse. The administration’s less-than-positive response to the circumstance finally caused me to file a sexual harassment and hostile surroundings complaint. After making the complaint and following the chain of command within the school scheme with no results, I filed a Montana Human Rights Complaint with the Montana Human Rights Bureau. This was a dual filing with the EEOC.

Upon returning to work the next school year, I found hard-core pornographic emails on my school computer. When I reported these emails to the proper authorities, their response was that “keep quiet”. When I asked them to trace the pornography, the administration replied that it couldn’t be done. As I pressed the issue, the administration’s reaction was to undertake to find a way to get rid of me. They embarked upon a series of closed meetings with students and parents in an try to discover anything and everything they could use to build a case to terminate me.

Students were taken from their class for meetings with the administration and were told to keep the discussions “a secret”. While I was never permitted to meet with parents or students to talk about what were plainly fabrications, rumors were rampant. Administration leaks were prevalent altho I was continually told to keep silent I also received letters from administration threatening termination. These letters lacked a basis in fact and were merely threats.

Such a crusade may take a toll. Admittedly, my instructing suffered. I was afraid to discipline any student in fear that such an action would result in more closed meetings and threats of termination. Grades were questioned. Parents called and met with members of the administration. These meetings were either scheduled for times for the duration of which they knew I could not attend or plainly held without notification. I was altogether isolated. These are only the highlights of a year of harassment and intimidation. Naturally, my health suffered. At one point, I weighed 90 pounds and my physician prescribed medication for stress. In fact, he commended that I take a leave of absence.

When I returned from that leave, my classroom was bare. My personal possessions were boxed. Student work had been removed, was missing or destroyed. Grades had been awarded in my name that I had not authorized. In response to all of this and other forms of harassment, my union representative said plainly “They may do what they want. They’re administration.” Finally, I was terminated.

While doing discovery, I learned that members of the Montana Human Rights Commission, members of the school district’s law firm, the Montana School Board Association and Montana Teachers Union all had political ties with the superintendent who terminated me. To make matters worse, he chairs the Board of Public Education. All of these people met to talk about my complaints versus the administration. These meetings were not publicized and I was not in attendance.

During the same amount of time in which I was beneath every day scrutiny and discipline, male workers were permitted to use corporeal punishment, have unsuitable relationships with students and drink alcohol on school sporting trips. Other topics brought to the attention of the administration for the duration of this same amount of time included the treatment of a Native American paraplegic paraprofessional and her Native American students as well as the use of derogatory names referring to women, ethnic groups and special needs children. All these were dealt with behind closed doors. The public was never informed and no other teacher lost his job.

Even altho I received a settlement, I have been blacklisted and can not be used in my chosen career. Sadly, I have lost my passion for classroom instructing and find myself fearful of those who work as administrators in the field of public education. This entire scenario could have been warded off had the school administration been more than willing to talk about in an open way and frankly the events that led to my filing the original grievance. It was filed only after the administration refused to listen to my worries and only after I was told to “keep quiet”. At one point, the administration represented me as a hysterical female whose problem might be “hormonal”.

All this was done with union cognition and while I was underneath a Collective Bargaining agreement. The union was in contact with the administration and was contacted by the administration. They did not protect me nor did they stand up for me. I believe this would not have happened had the Union done their occupation and not breached their contract with me. Again, these are only highlights.

This “witch hunt” made life very difficult for my family and I. We experienced financial, personal, aroused and physical scars and bruises. Some of which are stored away deep inside of each of us, but never wholly forgotten or lost.

My files integrate mountains of paperwork including depositions, declarations of truth, notarized documents and exhibits resulting from an arduous legal routine that at long last ended when the Havre (Montana) School District settled two lawsuits – a Federal suit and one filed in State District Court.

The point I am attempting to make is that others may cause us to lose control with regard to emotions peculiarly if are put in a position where we may without apparent effort be sabotaged, manipulated or are in a weak and vulnerable state. In this case, I subconsciously permitted these ugly believes and detrimental words to control my emotions. This was exceedingly dangerous. I went down a path of darkness paved with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and deep depression. This was something I had never experienced. This experience while very horrific forced me to face a heap of truths that laid dormant for galore years, something I will not get into in great detail in this book. I am saving it for another.

This four-year battle, reminded me that in darkness there is light and out of faith in one’s self comes empowerment, commitment, courage and strength. It likewise reminded me of the heroine, Anne Frank and the introduction in the novel, Anne Frank The Diary of A Young Girl written by Eleanor Roosevelt. These queer affirmations made a unfathomed impression, “living in ceaseless fear and isolation, imprisoned not only by the terrible outward circumstances of war but inwardly by themselves, made me intimately and shockingly conscious of war’s biggest evil the degradation of the humane spirit. Despite the horror and the humiliation of their every day lives, these people never gave up. Anne herself and most of all, it is her portrait which emerges so vividly and so appealingly from this matured very speedily in these two years, the important years from thirteen to fifteen in which modify is so swift and so difficult for each young girl.”

The courage and strength of Anne Frank and others that faced this persecution ought to remind us out of evil does come goodness and out of darkness there soon will come light. And while I use Anne and her story as an analogy I confess my torment was not as vile and evil as that of the holocaust, it was a battle, which did implicate negative, unworthy tormentors that tried to break my spirit. The isolation and abandonment along with the hatred and vigor vengeance, which they employed in their attempts to control and demolish me, produced self-doubt, loss of self-image and self-esteem. It almost cost me life, something I hold precious.

And while I was tormented by a mob of bullies, I didn’t support the circumstance by beating up on myself. So, again I implore you to stop the bully and stop bullying yourself. Surround yourself with persons that lift you up and support you face truths in positive and supportive ways. Get aid from masters if you need. Do not be ashamed. Stop the denial. Start looking yourself in the mirror and using positive self-talk daily. You are worthy, distinctive and only get one go at this fantasti thing we call life. So, face your enemies, your bullies, your battles, the weasels, the wars, and stop whining, suffering and sentiment sorry for yourself. Don’t concede outside forces and internal battles to clip your wings, to break your spirit. Fight back and reclaim yourself. Face your self and get real, get honest, get moving and take action and tell your self how fantasti you are. Realize positive self-talk is necessary in helping you fabricate a more salubrious and happier you.

Stop the internal obsessing and take the steps towards settling your problems. Get help! Help yourself! Take it one step at a time. Please stop the internal beatings and concede the bruises to heal. Positive self-talk is not the finish answer, but it is a start. Choosing healthful self-talk helps to provide you more strength to face your nemesis, no matter what it is. It offers you probability to aid your aroused intelligence and look at the circumstance with more clarity, because you are not permitting the outward or inward vicious words fetch you down. The bully’s mission is to make you feel insecure, overwhelmed, ugly, fearful, powerless, unworthy, and penitent and etc. You need to combat these feelings. You need to take out the fire extinguisher and distinguish the burning ugliness that tries to control your world inside and out. Take charge and fabricate alter with the aid of positive self-talk.

For all practical purposes, self-talk must be simple, to the point, practical, and honest. This is not saying that self-talk may not be used to support you manufacture attainable goals.

The truth is we have the power to control our life. We do it everyday. We are just not always conscious of it. I’m not saying we have the power to control life, but the power to construct our world. Granted bad things happen. Trust me I have experienced my share. It’s what we take from those experiences that are important. It is our attitude that breaks us, that may clip our wings. Each of us has the power to control our attitudes. We have the power to look at our world as full of color or as beige. I personally went through a beige stage. I even purchased beige furniture. I genuinely have no affinity towards beige, so this amazed a good deal of of the humans that have known me for years. It even came to surprise me. Granted it’s neutral and safe, but I have always been a person that likes purple, pink, yellow and green. Plain and simple, I am not a beige person nor have I ever been.

The point is the color beige has come to symbolism stress, pain and sadness to me. My attitude towards this color has to do with the fact that shortly after purchasing this very dull furniture of beige my life was whisked into a world of chaos, distress and filled with miserable hardships. My attitude towards this color was negative and brought me down. I permitted this color to darken my heart, put me in states of sadness and remind of a horrific people and times. My attitude of living in a beige environs stifled me. It made me feel unimportant and empty. I felt faded and dull. Unable to take me as beige, I decisive to buy color paint. To assure that I followed through I spoke with a good friend that works in the home embellishing business. She suggested I take a brush and slap the paint on the wall. ” I guarantee it will empower you.” She said.

Taking her counsel I took the bold move and slapped a deep red colored paint on the greatest wall in my living room. Low and behold she was right. Just taking action sparked courage and energy I desperately necessitated to get through the mountains of lies that the defense team made up when it comes to me. It changed my attitude. It also helped my attitude towards beige.

The point is I possessed the power to alter the color and more significantly my attitude towards it. Just as I had the power to change my attitude towards beige you too the have the power to create the modify you desire. It’s this simple; you need to change your kinship with yourself. You have the power to modify your attitude towards you. I’m not saying that it’s going to be easy as a matter of fact I didn’t saying anything when it comes to this was easy. It is your attitude towards alter that is key. Try using a heap of of these techniques.

-Talk regarding that which reminds you of happy times.

-Surround yourself only around positive people.

-When confronted with a negative experience see through the darkness and see the positive and light out of it.

-Stand outside and take a look around. Now close your eyes for two to five and listen the whispers of the earth. Slowly open your eyes and see world’s gorgeous vibrant colors.

-Stand in thanksgiving everyday.

-Do something unexpected for someone essential in your life. Better yet, do something nice for a stranger.

In short, persons get a good attitude by conducting themselves with a good attitude. Life is beige only to beige people. Life is dark when we only choose to see darkness. Change your perception, your attitude. Next time you find yourself sentiment dull or beige color your world. Use the proficiencies above. If those suggestions don’t work order yourself numerous pretty vibrant flowers. Seriously, I do this. My florist just laughs.

You get what you pay for.

I installed these speakers 2 weeks ago in the dash of my car, hoping that I had found a quality speaker for a good price. The first time I listened to them, I thought I had, because they sounded great. A couple of days later, I noticed some vibration coming from the dash, as if the speakers were blown. I thought it might just be something loose in the dash, so I took the speakers out of the dash and listened to them while holding them in my hand. The speakers would vibrate any time there was bass being pumped through, and it is not worth it to send them back as shipping costs just as much as new speakers. So now I’m doing what I should have done in the first place: buying good quality speakers.

definitely a quality product!

i bought these speakers to replace the ones in my Durabrand radio with really bad cheap speakers. the only thing i had to change was i had to modify the speaker box to fit the speakers but that cause it had a weight to make you think the stock speakers are better than they really are. other than that they are excellent speakers for $12.00 they come with the mounting screws and clips and sweet looking cover plates. the wire that comes with them is less that 22ga wire so if i where you i would buy some good speaker wire but the wire that came with them is alright if you don’t want to buy speaker wire. all in all there really good for $12.00. the only other thing is the connections on the speaker are different sizes for positive and negative the + is the big one and the – is the small one the included wire has slide on connectors with un shrunk heat shrink tube.again they’re really good speakers for the price definite buy!

Rockford Fosgate R125-2

I installed the Rockford Fosgate R125-2 in my Porsche 928. I needed an amp that had a small profile with a decent amount of power. It fit perfectly in a small area just below the glove compartment. The wiring was straight forward. The sound quality in the car definitely improved as a result of using this amp to power the rear speakers. After listening to the system with the Rockfor Fosgate I felt very happy about this purchase. Steve

Saved my rear behind a few times…

I got this radar as a present from my in-laws. Of course, I knew what I was getting, since that was what I asked them to get for me for my birthday . Anyhow. The first week, my brother-in-law borrowed it from me to go to NYC (we live in Upstate, NY – about 6 hour drive to New York City). When he came back, he didn’t want to give me the radar back, that’s how much he liked it. He’s had a few radars in the past, but he said that this one is by far superior to all the other ones, including the latest one from Passport. The next week, my wife and I took a trip to Niagara Falls, and this little “guy” worked its magic. I could “see” the cops long before they could “see” me. So, here is a little pros and cons list for this item:

Pros:

Range – like I already mentioned before, it’s got a great “range”, and gave me plenty of time to slow down before the cops could catch my speed on their radar guns.

Features – it’s got “tons” of cool features. You can program it any way you like it. It’s also got one of those “safety” features on it. It tells you if there is a construction going on or an accident on a road ahead (this feature is not present in all areas though).

Controls – the controls are totally awesome! Their easy to access and very “user-friendly”, meaning that you don’t have to read through the manual to figure out how to do something. Even the power cord has a mute button on it! Very sleek!

Cons:

Price – this is probably one of the most expensive radar detectors on the market. But, if you want the best, be prepare to pay for it.

Summary: It’s certainly not cheap, but I think it’s well worth the price. Great radar! Highly recommended!

Best One to Own

I have utilized the RX 65 in over thousands of miles of highway driving. It never misses, and it has saved me tickets everywhere. One of the features I like best about this detector, compared to the Escort 8500 X50, which I also own, is the different sounds associated with each radar frequency range. For example, Ka detection emits a chirping sound, different from the warble for K band,and the tone for X band detection. This allows the driver to keep his eyes on the road rather than look at the radar detector. At those highway speeds this is a great advantage in trying to locate the source of the radar.

In informal tests by me, I found the RX65 slightly more sensitive than the Escort 8500 X50, although not by much.

In both cases, according to the some of the radar test web sites, beware that while these units claim invisibility to police radar detector detectors, they in fact do emit slight amounts of local osciallator signal detectable by newer model police radar detector detectors. Professional drivers note.

The new Beltronics STI radar detector, with zero local oscillator EMI, is the one to buy for professional drivers concerned with transmitting any measurable radar detector emissions.

Great product, crappy after sales support / service

It’s been over a year since I got this product. I spent around 340$ to buy it and another 100$ hard wiring and perma-mounting it on my dash. Since then – this detector has saved me from dozens of tickets. Even with a conservative estimate of 150$ per ticket that works out to over 4000 $. More than 10 times my investment. If you like to push the speed limits – this is a must have!

The build quality is good, it’s easy to use, detection range is great. There are a lot of false positives (I always have it on highway mode), but you soon learn to tune out x band and listen for the Ka band and to a lesser extent K band. Of course – laser detection is iffy and rather pointless in my opinion. After all once you’ve been popped the fact becomes academic.

If you rely exclusively on this detector to warn you about speedtraps – this (or any other radar detector) might not help you much. Instead – if you use this as an additional early warning mechanism and augment this by staying alert, keeping an eye out for obvious speedtraps etc – this baby will pay off.

Now to the less savory details. Beltronics customer support sucks. Period. End of story. If you purchase this product from Beltronics directly – they hear you out grudgingly. If instead – you purchase this product from ANYONE else – they just tell you contact the seller. They will not answer even simple technical questions. They will not help you troubleshoot your device. They will not accept returns or honor their warranties. Their stock excuse being the large number of duplicates or rebuilt units flooding the market. The only recourse you have is to go back to the seller. Optionally I guess you could report them to the BBB.

In my case I was lucky, since the seller ([...]) was pretty helpful and replaced the defective piece right away. And I guess any product you get from Amazon has similar protection. BUT if you purchase it from a less helpful / influential seller – be prepared for the worst customer support ever.

With that said – this is a great product. Just be careful whom you buy it from.

Easy install and great features for the price

I have to say that I was pretty impressed with this little unit. I just installed a JVC in my wife’s Jeep and I wanted something new for my car. For 40 bucks, you can’t beat this little stereo. I picked up an adapter kit and a wire harness at a local retailer (if you ask, they’ll throw in a fist-full of crimp caps for free), and had it installed in my 2004 ion in about 40 minutes. The stereo sounded great hooked to the factory antenna. The FM was crystal clear and adjusted easily. The multiple input slots are a great feature. I put seven or eight songs on a flash drive in WMA and MP3 and a couple of albums on a 4GB SD card and gave it a shot. From the flash drive, the stereo read both file types seamlessly and ignored any additional data that were on the drive. It also read cleanly from the SD card. The sound was good for both. I also ran my iPod through the AUX jack, and it sounded excellent. Another plus is that you can charge the iPod from the USB port while playing through the AUX jack. For what amounted to about $80 (stereo, adapter, harness), it has vastly improved the audio options that I have available.

Reception, clock, volume issues

- The radio seems to have some reception problems that I never had with my stock radio before it died.
- Although the radio has a clock it isn’t useful because there is no way to keep the clock time on display.
- When the radio is turned on the volume will go to a preset volume level (level 20) instead of keeping the volume at the last setting it was on when the vehicle or radio was turned off.
I deducted a star for each issue so can give it only 2 stars. The radio is installed in a 1993 Ford Ranger because the original radio died.
Installation of the DIN style radio mount was relatively easy, but there no instructions for actual installation of the radio. But it was helpful to view a Youtube video on the installation of a DIN style radio. The only other item that I needed to install the radio was a wiring connector adapter.

Awesome player, and a novel idea.

JUST a USB player, what more do you need? My parents got me a CD player for Christmas that included a USB player as an extra, and after just a week, my wife and I found that we ONLY used the USB player. It was great! An 8GB card and plenty of songs, and I found that I haven’t used the CD player in months and months.

So, when it came time to replace the player in my wife’s vehicle (1984 Ford Bronco), I found this player, which is simply a dedicated memory card player. No need to pay extra for moving parts, gears that can strip, lasers that can get dirty, etc. etc. Just a straight up memory card player. Perfect!

The player sounds amazing, and the clarity is better than the old stereo we had in there. The USB and radio sound is crisp. This player works wonderfully. The blue background also has a wonderful look to it, and the controls and features are easy to use.

However, to the downside, and why I only gave it 4/5 stars.
There are a few features that aren’t a show stopper, but are REALLY annoying.
The first. The volume reverts to a pre-set setting every time you turn the vehicle on.
Next, if you start the vehicle immediately, it’ll keep in memory that you’re using the USB player. However, if you turn the vehicle on (but not start it), and the player boots up and starts playing (like if you’re sitting in the parking lot waiting for someone), and THEN start it, it’ll reset and go to radio and forget it’s playing the USB. You’ll have to go back to the song you were playing. Plus, if it was on random, it’ll start playing the same songs over again when you randomize it.
Last, you can only view the time for a few seconds. You can’t keep it on the clock. Irritating.

So, in summation, a GREAT player with awesome features, the future of dash players, a great price, and wonderful sound. Just a few bugs that really need to be worked out. They won’t ruin anyone’s day, but they can be a little annoying.

In the end, however, I highly recommend it.

Great alarm system!

I got this off Ebay for very cheap and installed it myself. Due to the complexity, and some bad internet advice, it took about 35 hours to investigate, install, and debug. To give you an idea, the wiring diagram for my Scion Xa is 220 pages. The Viper installation instructions are about 60 pages and there were at least 20 websites with often conflicting information about the wiring. The Scion Xa is a simple car and any modern/luxury car installation would be much more complex with bypasses and extra relays.

Now that everything is in, the unit is working flawlessly. With our current 106F heat index, the remote start alone is worth it. My A/C is blowing cold by the time I get to my car. I didn’t have keyless entry before so that is also a plus. As indicated elsewhere, the range is no where near 1 mile but I don’t care since I have the Smart Start cellular module (AT&T). I control my car with my iPod Touch through wi-fi and can start it from anywhere in the world for $30/yr. That part cost alone cost almost as much as the alarm system.

I’ve got to admit there is a significant sense of pride from completing a project so complex, that only a relative handfull of untrained individuals have done it successfully. Also, my 3 and 2 year old kids love it and insist upon pushing the buttons to start and unlock the car. I have purchased the 530T window unit and soon won’t have to crack the windows manually in this blistering heat.

This has been a great alarm. The range is not quite as advertised, but I easily get about a half mile range in the city. Installation took a while, but it came out flawless. The remote can be a bit confusing at times, but it becomes second nature after a while.

Excellent Product!

I’ve been using my Viper alarm for just over a year now, and it is phenominal. The two way communication paired with remote start works great for anyone. The range is better than factory systems and a good percent of aftermarket systems. Remote start on hot days = good, remote start on cold days = great, but the ability to remote start and roll-up the windows on a rainy day is the best. I use mine with the Viper illuminated badge, so far no one has tried to break in, though I did have someone try to open the door when I remote started it while leaving the movie theater. Even in our car the system works as designed with a manual transmission. I would recommend this to anyone and suggest having a professional install (as they have the coders necessary to set everything up properly).

these are IT !!!!!

Just installed these today in my 1990 4runner in the front doors and bought speaker spacers wich were not required. Hooked them up to a orion cobalt 600.4 amp wow these things bump!! Ive read some reviews saying they have no bass thats crazy! These little things got a lot of bass plus highs and mids! Maybe the past reviewers were not putting enogh power to them. I also have a new pair of boston acoustic 6/9 these things blow them out of the water in every way! So time to get rid of those and get another pair of these! Get these you will be happy!! Cant wait to hear how they sound in a month after a full break in period!!
Update Sep 29 09 Just had another pair installed in the back and all I have to say is WOW!! Like I said before I had Boston Acoustic 6/9 s95 in boxes and they just cannot hang with these! You can get away without a sub with these! Love em!

Perfect fit and perfect sound…

I purchased a set of four DB651′s to replace the factory speakers in my 2004 Nissan Sentra. My intention was to replace the entire factory sound system piece by piece, but once I installed these speakers I realized I didn’t need to change out my head unit or add an amp. These speakers sound perfect with the factory HU. I can turn the HU up to maximum volume and the Polk can handle it with no distortion. When I first installed them, I had a raspy popping sound, but I realized the factory subwoofer was still connected. Since disconnecting the Sub the sound has been perfect! These speakers pick up the bass perfectly, so I decided not to add a sub at all. The sound isn’t competition quality, but more than what I’ll ever need. Perfect full-range speakers for the average listener. Purchasing these speakers saved me a lot of money on replacing the rest of my system. Thanks Polk!! You have a new fan!

Polk DB651 Car Spakers

I bought these to replace speakers in a Pontiac vibe. I am extremely please with my choice. I also replaced the factory radio because the CD was skipping and hooked these speakers up to a JVC replacement radio. Wow, what a difference. I read several reviews b4 I bought these and would agree with many people that these speakers sparkle with brilliant sound. The replacement was easier than I thought. It was an excellent choice and I would recommend it to anyone.

LOUD and LOW!!

When I bought this subwoofer I was skeptical of it’s ability to produce very low frequencies. The data sheet on the JBL website looked good, especially for a speaker which is suited for such a small sealed enclosure. I made a box out of 3/4″ MDF with an interior volume of about 0.3 cubic feet (appxox. 10″ x 10″ x 8 3/4″ outside.) This little speaker makes some really low notes, and very loudly! This speaker is efficient- makes a lot of noise with a fairly small amount of power. I’m using an amp rated for 125 watts RMS (even though JBL claims it will handle 200 watts RMS) and I wouldn’t want it any louder! After a few songs at max. volume my ears are ringing and I have a headache! It’s as loud as a 10″ bass tube I had in the 90′s, and can be heard very loudly outside of the car.It really hits with the lowest kick drum thumps, and sounds great playing hip-hop and regae with low synthesized bass notes. If you’re looking to compete, this sub isn’t for you, but if you want some bump in the trunk that will annoy the neighbors if you forget to turn it down at night, this sub will deliver!

Reduced depth sub, compared to what? It’s huge! No chance of fitting in the stock sub location in my Yukon XL, but fit beautifully in the qlogic .35cu/ft box under the dash. I’m feeding it from a 500w RMS Kenwood sub amp. Hits hard, goes deep. Has at least the 7/16″ xmax specced. Hits much harder than the MTX DVC 8″ that was in that box previously.

Great sub

I have one of these in a sealed box under that back seat of my F150 and it sounds great. It plays very loud and low for an 8″ and it only needs a .3 cubic ft sealed box. has great cone excursion. It plays very clear and tight. Double bass sounds very good. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone that wants good bass in a small spot.
