Kicker DS65

O.k. I needed a set of speakers for my car to replace the stock ones. If you are looking to be heard while driving down the street, Do not get these speakers. If you want an affordable set of speakers that have a decent sound then these are them. Yes these are made by Kicker but these are their bottom line speakers..I like them for the price and they do have a better sound then my stock speakers. They have a rating of 50 watts rms and a 100 watts peak. I really dont think they would handle that much power. I am running an aftermarket radio and I think that is more then enough power to them

Speaker only lasted 2 months

Installed the Kicker DS65′s in my Silverado, replacing the factory door speakers. The Kickers are a nice upgrade and offer clear sound, with excellent treble and midrange. Bass is crisp but not very strong. I compensated by turning the treble down and the bass way up to balance the sound. If you are running a subwoofer or do not need deep bass, these are an excellent choice!
Edit: After 2 months, the left door speaker blew out. I am surpised the speakers did not last longer than this – they were powered by the factory AM/FM/CD radio, and were never overpowered. Although I was happy with the sound from the Kickers, I took away a star due to their durability.

Great Sound for a Great Price

I was pretty amazed at the great sound these speakers gave off. Has some bass and the clarity is awesome. These were installed in a Chevy Cobalt (front deck) where drilling had to be done to install them. The factory speakers were a piece of junk and were sealed to the factory brackets so I couldn’t use them. Since the factory speaker brackets were larger than these new speakers, I needed to fill in any gaps with foam. I would definitely recommend these speakers if you’re on a budget and still want great sound. You may have to adjust the treble for certain songs because of its crispness, but its well worth it. Within the box, you’ll receive the speakers, grills, mounting hardware, and wiring harness which helped out. I’m ready for the summer!
